A 41-year-old man faces a series of drug charges after a SWAT raid on his Westside home uncovered large quantities of illegal narcotics, including enough fentanyl to equal more than 400,000 lethal doses.
The investigation began when the Overdose Investigations Unit received tips that Christopher Herndon was distributing narcotics. After detectives confirmed Herndon was dealing fentanyl, investigators obtained a search warrant for his home on Potomac Avenue.
A SWAT team served the warrant on Thursday, August 27, when officers discovered a major drug stash. According to investigators, the search yielded:
- 849.2 grams of fentanyl
- 1.33 kilograms of methamphetamine
- 1.25 kilograms of powder cocaine
- 57.3 grams of crack cocaine
- 14.3 grams of marijuana
- Nearly $12,000 in cash
- Three vehicles
Detectives also recovered a personal notebook belonging to Herndon containing the handwritten phrase, “no police… will come to me.”…
