Central Avenue in the EDGE District is about to be a car-free, walkable party for three days straight, thanks to baseball and Halloween. The City of St. Pete announced that it is hosting full block parties on Friday and Saturday night, October 23 and 24, in honor of the Tampa Bay Rays playing in the World Series.

The block party is free to attend and the city is giving away limited-edition World Series posters on a first-come, first-served basis. There will, of course, be food and drinks available at all the neighborhood restaurants and bars. If you’re hungry, don’t sleep on the food trucks and pop-ups at Ferg’s. I’m a particular fan of Vinnie’s Pizza, conveniently located in the southeast corner out back where you don’t have to fight the full crowd…
