TAMPA, Fla. — As Tampa Bay sports fans enjoy a big weekend, advocates are urging people to recognize when sports gambling shifts from recreation to a problem that negatively affects their lives.
Recent numbers from the Florida Council on Compulsive Gambling show calls to its helpline have more than doubled in recent years. Nearly half of the people calling are ages 18 to 25.
