Angry Florida Man Assaults Circle K Cashier With Chocolate Egg: Police

John Mehas then allegedly jumped over the counter and began hitting and pushing the victim

A Florida man was arrested for battery after he allegedly hurled a chocolate egg at a cashier while checking out at a Circle K last Wednesday.

The incident unfolded when the clerk informed John Mehas, 27, that he was next in line.

For an unknown reason, Mehas refused to interact with the cashier and instead approached a different employee, according to a criminal complaint obtained by the Smoking Gun .

After paying for his purchases, Mehas reportedly chucked a chocolate egg at the victim, hitting him in the forehead.

When the clerk ordered Mehas out of the store, Mehas “became irate.” He reportedly jumped over the counter and began hitting Riordan’s face and pushing him, leaving him with a laceration on his arm.

Mehas, who lives in the Tampa Bay area city of Tarpon Springs, allegedly admitted to police that he had assaulted the cashier.

He was charged with misdemeanor battery but has since been released on a $1,000 bond.
