After Closing Locations Due To Costs, A Highly-Rated FL Chicken Eatery Expands With 2 More Stores

The last several months have been busy in Florida for restaurant openings and closings. Some – like Unfiltered and Ocean One Bar & Grille – closed. And others – such as Chow’s Buffet opened (and it is already considering additional locations.)

There is one Florida restaurant that has closed some locations but is getting ready to open some others.

About King of The Coop: This restaurant that serves Nashville hot chicken is highly rated as it earned Creative Loafing’s “Best of the Bay’s” award for the best fried chicken in four straight years from 2019-2022.

They serve wings, sandwiches, bowls, and waffles – all featuring Nashville chicken – as well as sides and desserts.

St. Petersburg Foodies reviewed King of the Coop and gave it 5 out of 5 stars. The publication wrote:

“The tenders, as I mentioned earlier, are cooked to perfection all the way around. The contrast of salty, spicy, and sweet with a bite of the chicken and the waffle together is totally in harmony. I savored every single bite.”
