14-year-old seen chasing 16-year-old with gun before Tampa shooting, police say

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A 14-year-old boy was arrested in connection to a shooting after police said he was seen on video chasing a 16-year-old boy with a gun.

Police said they were called to the 8500 block of North Armenia Avenue just before 3:45 p.m. Friday after there were reports of a shooting.

Witnesses told officers that the shooting happened after a fight near a bus stop on Armenia.

According to police, a video captured the incident, showing a 14-year-old boy chasing a 16-year-old with a gun in his hand.

The 16-year-old was shot but his condition is not known.

Tampa police said the 14-year-old was charged with aggravated assault with intent to commit a felony with a weapon, attempted murder in the first degree, aggravated battery with great bodily harm or deadly weapon carrying concealed firearm minor in possession of a firearm.
