VIDEO: 200-pound turtle released into wild after being rescued from Florida lobster trap

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Ida, an adult female loggerhead turtle who was rescued from a lobster trap, was released back into the wild in the Florida Keys on Saturday, Jan. 20.

A video posted on The Turtle Hospital’s Facebook page shows the 200-pound turtle being carried to the edge of the beach before she made her way into the sea.

Ida was rescued just off of Long Key just two days before her release, according to the video.
