Man arrested after shooting another man in St. Petersburg home, police say

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — A man was arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder Wednesday after police said he shot another man in his St. Petersburg home.

Officers said they received a call about a burglary at a home on 64th Avenue South around 2 a.m.

According to investigators, Jacob Merrett, 35, shot another man in his house.

St. Petersburg police said the men knew each other. It was not a burglary.
