Motorcyclist dead after crash near Seminole shopping plaza

SEMINOLE, Fla. (WFLA) — A motorcyclist died Tuesday after a crash near a Seminole shopping plaza.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said 37-year-old Timothy Sterbens was driving a Ducati motorcycle at a high speed on Seminole Boulevard, just south of Park Boulevard around 8 p.m.

Deputies said Sterbens hit a 56-year-old woman in a Mazda 3 after she exited Seminole Plaza and crossed the northbound lanes of Seminole Boulevard.

Sterbens was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Investigators said speed appears to be a factor in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
