Video above: 16-year-old dies after Clearwater shooting, police say
TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A 16-year-old was accused of fatally shooting another teenager in Clearwater on Tuesday while “play fighting.”
The 16-year-old was charged with manslaughter and a probation violation in connection to the shooting, which left 16-year-old Jacques Ford dead.

According to Clearwater police, Ford was shot at the suspect’s apartment on Engman Street while the pair was “play fighting.” The teenage suspect picked up the gun and it went off during the struggle, injuring Ford, a witness told police.
Ford was later pronounced dead at Morton Plant Hospital. The incident remains under investigation and the suspect faces additional charges, according to Clearwater police.
