One of those places is a locally owned deli named The Bread Basket , located at 2927 N 40th St. in Tampa.
“It’s a little bit hidden, you don’t know it’s here necessarily,” The Bread Basket Deli’s owner Conor Murphey said. “We get people all the time that drive by saying ‘I’ve been driving by this for 10 years, I didn’t know this was here’.”
Some of their menu items include breakfast sandwiches, pancakes, corn beef hash, deli sandwiches and even country fried steak.
Owner Angie Murphey said she opened the restaurant along with her husband, Conor, about six years ago and has seen it become the go-to spot for lunch in their area.
“You have all walks of life coming in, everybody seems to chat and talk,” she explained. “People see each other from the neighborhood and they come and sit at each other’s table. For me, it means a lot.”
The Bread Basket Deli is open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
