Tampa, Florida – has seen its fair share of crime, but the justice system continues to work tirelessly to keep our streets safe. In a recent case, Sean Peter Brewer, a 36-year-old from Oldsmar, found himself facing the consequences of his actions. U.S. District Judge Steven D. Merryday sentenced Brewer to seven years in federal prison after he pleaded guilty to several serious charges, including possessing a firearm as a convicted felon, intending to distribute methamphetamine, and having a firearm during a drug trafficking crime. Brewer’s admission of guilt came on September 1, 2023, marking a significant turn in his legal battle.

The story of Brewer’s arrest is as dramatic as it gets. On November 11, 2022, Clearwater Police were called to a local gas station on Gulf to Bay Boulevard. There, they discovered Brewer, unresponsive, behind the wheel of his car at a gas pump. With help from the Clearwater Fire Department, they managed to awaken Brewer, only to find he was under the influence. After failing a field sobriety test, Brewer was arrested for DUI. But that was just the beginning.
