Florida State Fair kicks off Thursday

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — There is nowhere else in the world that someone can eat a fried pork chop on a stick while riding carnival rides or walking through a barn to tour livestock than at a state fair.

The 2024 Florida State Fair opens Thursday, Feb. 8, and will run through Feb. 19 at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa.

Florida State Fair adds 3 more wacky foods to 2024 lineup

The gates will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday through Sunday and President’s Day.

For children under age 6 to 12, entry will be $6 Monday through Thursday and $11 Friday through Sunday. For adults above the age of 12, entry is $12 Monday through Thursday and $16 Friday through Sunday.

The fair will feature more than 50 carnival-style rides suitable for all ages. Three packages to pre-order armbands are available. The three levels are:

  • Advance Anyday Armband; $32
    • Valid One Day Only; Unlimited Rides; Not valid for Specialty Rides
  • Advanced Weekday Armband: $22
    • Valid One Day, Monday-Thursday, February 8, 12-15 and 19; Unlimited Rides; Not valid for specialty rides
  • Advance Anyday Armband + Fast Pass 2024; $54
    • Valid One Day Only; Unlimited Rides; Skip the ride lines on Friday, Saturday and Sunday; Not valid for specialty rides
