Oldsmar woman accused of using $25K in HOA funds to pay her own bills

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — An Oldsmar woman is accused of using nearly $25,000 in funds from the HOA where she was a manager to pay her own bills, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.

Stephanie Lopez, 56, of Oldsmar, is a former HOA manager for Mediterranean Manors, deputies said. It’s unclear when her role as manager ended.

Harbeck Hospitality, which owns Mediterranean Manors, notified deputies in May about embezzlement, according to the sheriff’s office.

Lopez allegedly used $24,664.88 in funds from the HOA to pay her mortgage, purchase new windows, insurance, cable bills, and purchases from Amazon, according to the sheriff’s office.

Lopez was arrested on Wednesday and charged with scheme to defraud and grand theft, according to deputies. She was taken to the Pinellas County Jail.

No other details were immediately available.
