FL’s “Loneliest” City Also Holds The Guinness World Record For The Most Consecutive Days Of Sunshine

According to Time Magazine, an Australian study found a correlation between serotonin levels and bright, sunny days.

Luckily for Floridians, the climate of the Sunshine State is conducive to getting plenty of sunshine. However, some of Florida’s cities get more sunshine than others.

Interestingly enough, the city that was recently found to be Florida’s “loneliest” is also the city that broke a Guinness World record for the most consecutive sunny days.

Florida’s “Lonliest” City: The Chamber of Commerce examined which cities in the United States were most lonely in 2024. To do so, it analyzed Census data of 170 cities that had a popular of over 150,000.

The Commerce considered the “loneliest” cities to be those where the highest percentage of residents lived alone.

No Florida city made the top 10, but a Florida city did rank number 15th. (Washington was number 1.)

It turns out that Florida’s “loneliest” city, coming in at number 15, was St. Petersburg where 41.6% of residents live alone.

Florida’s Most Consecutively Sunny City: St. Petersburg has the nickname “The Sunshine City” and this may not be a coincidence. According to About St. Pete, The Sunshine City holds the Guinness World Record for the most consecutive sunny days at 768.
