Deadly crash closes Kennedy Boulevard in Tampa for nearly 3 hours

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Part of Kennedy Boulevard in Tampa was closed for nearly three hours Wednesday due to a fatal pedestrian crash.

The Tampa Police Department said the crash happened in the westbound lanes of Kennedy Boulevard near Armenia Avenue.

Officers said the driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. No information was given about the person who was killed in the crash.

The westbound lanes of Kennedy Boulevard were closed at Armenia Avenue. The eastbound lanes were partially closed due to the crash.

Tampa police officers asked drivers to avoid the area.

No other details were immediately available.
