Tampa man runs across highway, dies after being struck by vehicle: FHP

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — A Tampa man who ran across a Hillsborough County highway was killed after being struck by a vehicle, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

Around 12:09 a.m. on Sunday, the 34-year-old man ran across SR-674, just east of 30th Street Southeast.

At the same time, a 31-year-old Leesburg man was driving westbound on SR-674.

FHP said the pedestrian ran in front of the driver and was struck. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died.
