MILITARY NOTES: Training underway; donations given

Training never ends for sailor

ONBOARD USS TRIPOLI — U.S. Navy Seaman Apprentice Paul Leclair, of Sarasota, may have received initial training in being a mass communication specialist for the military, but he’s also doing some physical training.

As a part of the security reaction force for the amphibious assault carrier USS Tripoli (LHA 7), he recently underwent more training.

Among the moments captured by another mass communication specialist, Leclair practiced baton blocks on Aug. 14.

USS Tripoli is an America-class amphibious assault ship. It is homeported in San Diego.
