Man driving stolen Jeep tracked down in St. Pete, found with cocaine, meth: police

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — A man accused of stealing a Jeep out of Massachusetts was tracked down to St. Pete and found with a significant amount of drugs, according to police.

Auto Theft Detectives received a report that a stolen 2018 Jeep Trackhawk out of Massachusetts was likely in the Pinellas County area. The high-performance SUV was also believed to have an altered Vehicle Identification Number.

The suspect, Christopher Davis, 36, was tracked down by detectives and taken into custody.

During a search of the stolen car, officials found more than 400 grams of cocaine, 200 grams of methamphetamine, and $3,200 in cash.

Davis was charged with trafficking more than 400 grams of cocaine, trafficking more than 200 grams of meth, grand theft of a motor vehicle, and dealing in stolen property.
