Woman left without Bucs/Broncos tickets after spending $1,200 through StubHub

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Regina Schimmeyer wanted to do something special for her husband, Michael, for his birthday this year.

So, in May, she paid more than $1,200 for two tickets and a parking pass through online reseller StubHub to this weekend’s game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Denver Broncos. Her husband is a lifelong Broncos fan.

“My husband is an amazing person,” Schimmeyer said. “He goes out of his way to make sure my needs are met, to make sure that I’m always happy, and I just felt like this was something special that I wanted to do for him to show him how much I loved him and how important he was to me.”

The club level seats are in section 210 and are supposed to come with food and beverages.

In June, she received an email that said the tickets were ready to be downloaded but when she tried, she received an error message that the tickets had been removed.

Schimmeyer said she has spent hours on the phone with StubHub. At first, she was told they were contacting the seller and escalating the issue, then told the seller wasn’t responding. Now, she says she’s told nothing can be done until Sunday — the day of the game.
