Baker Mayfield on Pace to Break Record?

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have started out the season 2-0 for the fourth year in a row, and it is thanks to the fantastic play from their starting quarterback.

Many thought that Baker Mayfield’s performance last season was a fluke, and that he would be back to his old ways this season, but he has proven the haters wrong through the first two weeks.

He is currently tied for the most passing touchdowns in the league with five, and that puts him in pace for just under 43 passing touchdowns for the season. If he is able to keep it up and hit that mark, that would put him near an impressive Buccaneers record.

The record for most passing touchdowns in a season by a Bucs quarterback is 43, which was set by Tom Brady back in 2021. While the team was not able to win the Super Bowl that season, Brady had one of the best seasons in the team’s history.

Even if Baker can’t break the record, he could come very close and claim the second-place spot on the list. If Mayfield can even come close to replicating that season by Brady, he could put the Bucs in great position to make some noise this season.
