“I do not have words to accurately describe my heartbreak for everyone affected by Hurricane Helene,” she wrote.

“You see this stuff on TV, but until you live through it, you can’t fully grasp the terror associated with the unknowns.”

The Associated Press reported that the death toll from Hurricane Helene has increased to 44, as of writing. According to Tampa Bay Times’ Divya Kumar , 10 of the casualties are from Tampa Bay.

Emily Mayfield empathized with all those affected by the Category 4 hurricane while also expressing gratitude that they were kept safe.
