Tampa, FL – A crash involving a Hillsborough County school bus and a sedan occurred on October 3, 2024, at around 2:30 PM, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP). The accident happened at the intersection of West Hillsborough Avenue and Countryway Boulevard.
The school bus, a Hillsborough County vehicle driven by a 23-year-old Clearwater man, was traveling westbound on West Hillsborough Avenue. The bus ran a red light at the intersection and collided with a southbound Acura sedan, driven by a 50-year-old woman from Tampa. The impact hit the left side of the Acura, resulting in non-life-threatening injuries to the driver, who was transported to a nearby hospital.
Fortunately, there were no passengers on the bus, and the bus driver was unharmed in the incident. The crash led to the temporary closure of the intersection, which reopened at 5:10 PM after the scene was cleared.
