ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — A family has been left wanting answers after they lost a loved one to a hit-and-run in St. Petersburg Monday night.
They are desperate to find out who is responsible and why they never stopped.
Man killed in Hillsborough County stabbing, deputies say
The incident happened around 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 21 on 9th Avenue South when Edward Webb was killed while crossing the street to his home.
“If anybody knows anything, just say something because that’s my dad,” said Khadejah Webb, the victim’s daughter.
“You can’t even go outside of your own home now and feel safe, it just isn’t right. We’re just asking anybody who knows anything or saw anything to please come forward,” said Teareasa Jackson, who is related to the victim’s wife.
The victim’s wife, Jeanette Chaniel, said she saw the entire thing.
“Hit him face on and knocked him, and ran over him, and kept going,” Chaniel said. “I was standing right here on the sidewalk because we walk in together.”
“Why did they do it? Why did they take an innocent life from a good person, a man that I’ve been with for 34 years,” she added.
