To rank the best college towns in America, personal finance company WalletHub recently ranked each town based on 31 metrics that measure academic, social and economic opportunities for students. The data set ranged from the cost of living and crime rate, to the quality of higher education in each city.

According to WalletHub’s study , the best city for going to college in the U.S. is Austin, Texas, home to several college campuses, including the University of Texas at Austin.
