Largo woman claims $4M Mega Millions ticket she bought from Publix

LARGO, Fla. (WFLA) — A Largo woman is now a multi-millionaire after a lucky purchase from Publix landed her a big win.

Megan Chora, 40, claimed a second-tier prize, worth $4 million, playing the Mega Millions she bought from Publix at 10500 Ulmerton Road in Largo.

Her ticket was purchased back on June 11 and matched all five white ball numbers. Although the ticket did not match the Mega Ball number, she still went home with a nice chunk of change.

The Florida Lottery said the retailer received a $5,000 bonus commission for the ticket sale.

Since 2013, the Mega Millions game has generation roughly $1.21 billion for education, awarding nearly $2 billion in prizes.

The next drawing will be held Friday night at 11 p.m. E.T., with an estimated jackpot of $281 million. Tickets must be purchased by 10 p.m. to be eligible for tonight’s drawing.
