Tampa’s commitment to honoring its military community took a concrete form today with the unveiling of the new Veterans Plaza in Port Tampa Park. This is the second in a series of memorials to be installed, bringing the city a step closer to achieving its goal of having a dedicated space for veteran recognition in each of the four City Council districts. According to city officials, the plaza is a gesture of respect for those who have donned the uniform in service of the nation and their loved ones who have borne the weight of that service.
