Florida tradition ‘Lights of Lake Park’ returns for a 31st year

LARGO, Fla. (WFLA) — A neighborhood tradition returns as “Lights of Lake Park” in Largo celebrates 31 years with a dazzling display of lights.

Showcasing more than 3 miles of Christmas decorations and lights, the exhibit began in 1993 as a tribute to beloved Lake Park Estates resident, Ruby Dow.

The lights will be up and open to visitors of the Lake Park Estates until Dec. 31.

Proceeds from the display go to Suncoast Hospice, a member of Empath Health.

Since its start, the annual event has raised more than $1 million in donations.
