TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — St. Petersburg will start collecting live Christmas trees for disposal.
Those who would like to dispose of their live Christmas trees must place their tree outside where the trash is collected by 7 a.m. on Jan. 11. The city will pick up the trees between then and Feb. 10.
- Remove all lights, ornaments, garland, stands, plastic bags, and decorations
- Place the tree in the same spot the trash is picked up
- Do not place the tree inside containers or lean it against electrical poles
After Feb. 10, residents can request a special pick up by calling 727-893-7398 or clicking here .
Residents can also drop their live trees off at one of these locations between 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., except for New Year’s Day:

- 7750 26th Ave. N
- 2500 26th Ave. S
- 4015 Dr. Martin Luther King St. S
- 2453 20th Ave. N
Artificial Christmas trees will not be accepted. Artificial trees must be placed in a city trash bin as long as it fits with the lid closed, otherwise a special pickup should be requested at the same number and link above.
