Recent inspections of Hillsborough County restaurants have shown a range of compliance with food safeness standards. State records showed that the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation conducted inspections at 340 restaurants in the county over the past 30 days. While 251 establishments passed on their first visit, 89 restaurants failed to meet standards initially.
Among those with violations, 30 eateries stood out with double-digit infractions. Three restaurants were found to have 20 or more violations and required follow-up reviews. Additionally, four restaurants were ordered to close temporarily.
Restaurants With the Most Violations and Closures
China Max, located at 459 Brandon Town Center Dr. Space #FC3 in Brandon, topped the list with 24 violations during an inspection on Dec. 17, 2024. The restaurant was temporarily closed due to nine high-priority violations related to roach and rodent activities.
However, China Max addressed these issues and reopened after a follow-up inspection on Dec. 18, 2024.
