Bankrupt Kentucky Chrysler Dealership with Florida Ties Sparks Concern Over Past Deals

A well-known Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership in Owensboro, Kentucky, is on the brink of transformation following its sale in a court-supervised bankruptcy auction. The deal, led by local auto veterans Amber Beehn, Dr. Suzanne Rashidian, and Florida-based David Vatland, promises not only a fresh name and revamped look but also a renewed commitment to community and employee well-being—an aspect that resonates strongly with Florida’s emphasis on customer service and transparency in the automotive industry.

A New Chapter Begins

The triumvirate secured the winning bid of approximately $7.65 million on March 4, 2025, for Davis Auto Group’s struggling dealership. Pending final approvals from the US Bankruptcy Court and Stellantis—the parent company of Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram—the outlet is slated to continue operating from its current location but will soon rebrand as Vass Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. The asset sale includes the full suite of inventory, parts, merchandise, intellectual property, and lease rights, setting the stage for what the new owners describe as “a dream come true.”

Florida Influence and Fresh Vision

David Vatland, whose extensive experience spans over three decades and includes ownership of multiple dealerships in Vero Beach, Florida, is determined to instill a new culture at the dealership. “The car business is always about tweaking processes and procedures,” Vatland noted, emphasizing his commitment to customer trust and a transparent buying experience. This approach is designed to make the car buying process more enjoyable—a stark contrast to the traditional, often cumbersome, industry practices.
