Eagle Healthcare LLC is laying off 250 workers across Florida, including in Pinellas, Polk and Sarasota counties, after losing a contract. The company notified state officials of the job cuts in letters that were posted to the Florida Department of Commerce Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification website on May 23.
Statewide, Eagle Healthcare is “permanently reducing its workforce due to the unexpected loss of a significant contract, which has had a substantial impact on our operations,” the WARN letters say. Employees will be terminated from 11 locations around Florida.
Locations in the region that are impacted by the cuts are 1351 San Christopher Drive in Dunedin; 206 W. Orange St. in Davenport, Polk County; and 1755 18th St. in Sarasota. Eagle Healthcare will lay off 23 employees in Dunedin and 22 workers each in Davenport and in Sarasota, according to the WARN letters.
