Students top essay contest
ST. PETERBURG — Amanda Weakley, an honors student at University of South Florida in Saint Petersburg, has won first prize in the Florida Bibliophile Society’s eighth annual Lee J. Harrer Student Book Collecting Essay Contest.
Weakley was cited for her essay “Hunger: A Multifaceted Term.”
The winner and two runners-up — Rachel Zangrillo of USF and Hannah Workman of Eckerd College — were feted at the society’s spring banquet at the St. Petersburg Marriott–Clearwater.
