Hillsborough officials identify 24-year-old killed by gunman who opened fire on car

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has identified a man who was killed after a gunman opened fire on a vehicle Friday.

A spokesperson for the sheriff’s office said Terell Ferrell, 24, was killed in the shooting, which happened Friday afternoon near the intersection of Progress Boulevard and 82nd Street.

According to authorities, Ferrell was in the passenger seat of the vehicle when the driver, an unnamed woman, pulled over to talk to the suspect along Progress Boulevard. The driver’s child was also in the backseat of the car at the time.
