There is no shortage of great markets in Pinellas County, and one of our favorites has taken over one of the city’s marquee watering holes, as the St. Pete Sunday Market is taking over Ferg’s Sports Bar & Grill every third Sunday through August.
Hosted by St. Pete Is Super Cool, the market showcases 60+ local artists, vendors, makers, shops and more. The next market is this Sunday, June 15, from 11 am – 4 pm at Ferg’s (1320 Central Avenue).
Part of what makes this market so unique – in addition to an emphasis on arts and alternative vendors – is that it takes place inside an actual restaurant and bar. The unique venue makes it a true community event where you can grab a drink, sip and stroll throughout the spacious market, and finish it off with a basket of wings and baseball on TV.
The dozens of vendors are spread throughout the sprawling Ferg’s property, creating an almost state fair-like atmosphere where shops and artists are nestled alongside happy diners and imbibers. Market-goers and Ferg’s regulars alike mingle together and enjoy shopping, drinks, live music, games for kids, a dog park, and even axe throwing. If you work up a sweat with all those games, you can always pop upstairs for a cold cocktail and simulation golf in the AC.
St. Pete’s most hyper-local community market
The combination of Florida’s biggest sports bar with one of St. Pete’s most enjoyable markets creates an experience that everyone can enjoy. With the next market taking place on Father’s Day, it’s a particularly opportune time to treat dad to something nice – whether that’s a couple draft beers, a new St. Pete hat, or some art for the house…
