Florida Becomes First State to Offer Direct Law Enforcement Protection To ICE Officers

Florida has become the first state in the nation to explicitly direct its law enforcement agencies to protect U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers and their families.

The move, spearheaded by Attorney General James Uthmeier, comes in direct response to recent violent protests targeting immigration officials in other parts of the country, particularly Los Angeles, California.
