PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – Motorists in Pinellas County should prepare for significant traffic impacts as the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 7 has announced a comprehensive schedule of lane closures across major roadways from Sunday, June 22, through Saturday, June 28, 2025. These closures are necessary for ongoing maintenance and improvement projects.
Commuters are advised to plan extra travel time, utilize navigation apps, and consider alternative routes to minimize delays.
Key areas affected include:
- I-175: From 16th Street S to 4th Street S, nightly lane closures are scheduled from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. throughout the entire week, Sunday, June 22, through Saturday, June 28.
- ALT US 19 (Pinellas Avenue) at Anclote Road/Coquina Drive: Daytime lane closures will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday, June 23, through Friday, June 27.
- US 19 (various stretches):
- From SR 580 (Main Street) to SR 586 (Curlew Road), expect nightly lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday, June 22, through Thursday, June 26.
- On US 19 (34th Street) from 54th Avenue S to 22nd Avenue N, both day and night closures are planned. Day closures run from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday, June 23, through Friday, June 27. Night closures are from 7 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., Sunday, June 22, through Thursday, June 26.
- From Drew Street to Sunset Point Road, nightly lane closures will occur from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday, June 22, through Thursday, June 26.
- US 19 Frontage Road: The section from Drew Street to Sunset Point Road will also experience nightly lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday, June 22, through Thursday, June 26.
- Alt US 19 (5th Avenue N): From 6th Street N to Tyrone Boulevard, drivers will encounter both day and night lane closures. Day closures are from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday, June 23, through Saturday, June 28. Night closures are from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday, June 22, through Thursday, June 26.
- SR 60 (Gulf to Bay Boulevard): Eastbound lanes from S. Bayshore Boulevard to Dr. Kiran C. Patel Boulevard will see continuous 24-hour lane closures extending through late 2025. This is part of a longer-term project.
- Alt US 19 (SR 595): From 100th Way N to Bay Pines, lane closures are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday, June 23, through Friday, June 27.
- 9th Street South (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street): Between 6th Avenue S and 7th Avenue S, lane closures will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday, June 23, through Friday, June 27.
