Mullet’s Fish Camp is opening an intimate dessert and wine bar in St. Pete

One of South St. Pete’s most beloved seafood spots is getting a sweet new neighbor, thanks to the same team behind it. The owners of Mullet’s Fish Camp (3901 6th St. S.) are expanding across the street and bringing something totally new to the table: a dessert and wine bar.

According to reporting by the Tampa Bay Times, the Mullet’s crew has leased the former Coquina Meat Market at 3910 6th St. S., right across from the fish camp. While the original reason for the acquisition was to provide extra parking, co-owner Nick Brown told the Times that they quickly realized the space had potential for more. Now, they’re turning it into a cozy, welcoming lounge where guests can enjoy wine, beer, and a selection of housemade sweets.

Mullet’s continues to impress the St. Pete community

This new concept is still under construction, but the plan is to offer ice cream, homemade cakes, and pies in a laid-back, living room-style setting. News of Mullets opening a dessert hub across the street from its restaurant was first reported back in 2023 by St. Pete Rising. Guests will be able to enjoy their desserts on-site or take them to go. The space will also feature a bar in the back, offering beer and wine, as well as wine tastings and educational events.

Initially, the team wanted to build a dessert room as part of Mullet’s, but with long wait times during peak season, skipping dessert helped speed things up. If you’ve been to Mullet’s before, then you know it’s always worth the wait. Now, they’re creating a separate space to satisfy those cravings, and it’s shaping up to be one of the most exciting additions to the neighborhood.
