Fugitive Apprehended in Maryland After Assaulting Elderly Driver Last Summer

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – After a year-long, cross-country search, detectives have finally apprehended the suspect in a violent 2024 tram incident at the St. Pete Pier. Brian Leona Boggs, 36, was tracked down in Maryland and taken into custody with the assistance of U.S. Marshals.

The arrest stems from an incident last June when Boggs, a passenger on the Pier’s tram, allegedly assaulted a 70-year-old tram driver.

According to investigators, Boggs became enraged when the driver attempted to move a stroller that was obstructing seats. He then reportedly knocked the elderly victim to the ground, causing injuries…
