TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Over a dozen Floridians are facing charges following the conclusion of one of the Justice Department’s largest health care fraud investigations on record.
The 2025 National Health Care Fraud Takedown involved federal and state law enforcement agencies across the country and was aimed at combatting health care fraud schemes exploiting patients and taxpayers.

The effort resulted in criminal charges against 324 people, including 96 doctors, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and other medical professionals across the country. Officials said 19 of those charged were Floridians, and many of them worked at physical rehabilitation centers in Tampa.
