CLEARWATER, Fla. (WFLA) — A popular pet store in Clearwater has had its permit revoked after investigators found multiple animal welfare violations, Pinellas County Animal Services said.
Earlier this month, PCAS received a complaint about Blue Sky Puppies on Ulmerton Road, alleging they had sold sick puppies and were keeping animals in unsanitary conditions.
PCAS officers responded the next day and found that the store was in violation of multiple rules that regulate the care and keeping of animals.
Officers saw kennels with empty water bottles, kennels without any water available, 34 puppies in kennels that were too small, multiple sick puppies being held together, and sick puppies being kept too close to healthy puppies. They said there were 177 dogs being kept in the store…
