The penthouse of the upcoming 50-story Waldorf Astoria Residences St. Petersburg sold for a record $27 million, developers announced Tuesday.
Why it matters: It’s the highest-priced condo sale in Tampa Bay history, signaling more growth of the region’s luxury housing market.
- Along with the record transaction, the Waldorf Astoria Residences planned for 150 Second Ave. S. is set to replace The Residences at 400 Central as the tallest building in St. Pete.
State of play: The two-story penthouse spans 10,700 square feet and includes a 50-foot private pool, a private foyer and high-end finishes.
- The buyer is “a local business leader and longtime supporter of St. Petersburg,” per a news release.
