TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Florida Highway Patrol and Hillsborough County Animal Control would like to have a word with the person who abandoned a dog, in a crate on the side of I-275 on Wednesday.
FHP Troopers were called to the scene, when a passing motorist noticed the dog on the Northbound side of 275, just North of Bearss Avenue.

The dog was left there in terrible conditions.
“That animal had no food or water,” said Chelsea Waldeck, the Division Director of the Pet Resounce Center. “Number two, I believe the heat index is well over a hundred again, so that animal, being a black dog in a black crate under no shade, would have suffered very, very severe heat-related illnesses,”…
