PETERSBURG, Fla. – In a proactive move to enhance resilience against extreme weather, the City of St. Petersburg has installed a new AquaFence flood protection system at Lift Station 85, a vital piece of infrastructure that services a significant portion of the community. This installation is a key part of the city’s Agile Resilience Plan (SPAR), a citywide effort to strengthen its infrastructure against natural disasters.
Lift Station 85 is a critical facility, responsible for redirecting sewage for nearly 25% of St. Petersburg’s population. This service area includes several essential locations, such as hospitals, assisted living facilities, hurricane shelters, and the City’s Emergency Operations Center.
