ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A state audit of St. Petersburg’s spending is underway — and it sparked a tense confrontation between Florida’s Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia and protesters at City Hall on Wednesday afternoon.
Protesters gathered outside at noon and returned later in the day, upset that the state is questioning budget decisions made by their local elected officials. When CFO Blaise Ingoglia arrived to speak with reporters, they made their concerns known.
