Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Alerts Residents to Rise in Kidnapping Phone Scams

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a new phone scam in which callers pretend to be family members in danger and demand money. Scammers may use accurate personal information and make it appear the call is coming from a family member’s phone.
