Deputies Arrest Clearwater Woman After Fatal Shooting and Gunfire Into Neighbor’s Home

UNINCORPORATED CLEARWATER – Deputies from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence at 1538 Illinois Road at approximately 1:12 a.m. on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, after reports of a gunshot. Inside the home, deputies located an adult male deceased.

According to an arrest affidavit, 38-year-old Amanda Tenney, who resides at the Illinois Road address, was arrested in connection with the incident. She faces charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and wantonly or maliciously shooting at or into an occupied dwelling.

Deputies reported that gunfire struck a neighboring residence at 1557 Tuscola Road, occupied at the time by two residents. A bullet hole was found in a window and the fence separating the two properties, and a .45 caliber projectile was recovered inside the neighbor’s home.

According to the arrest affidavit, witnesses told deputies that Tenney had been heard yelling, “I have a gun and I’m going to use it.” The affidavit states Tenney admitted to retrieving a firearm and going into her backyard, but denied firing it…
