NEWS: JetBlue Airways Set to CANCEL Flights to Popular Florida Airport

If you have a flight booked through JetBlue, you’ll likely want to check your app for updates, as you may need to find an alternative flight.

JetBlue Airways has cut flights to two airports, including one in Florida, according to The Street.

One route between Newark Liberty International Airport and Tampa International Airport will be suspended on December 1st and is expected to resume in April 2026. Although it has not been officially confirmed yet, if you search for flights, you won’t be able to find any during the specified time frame.

This year, JetBlue pulled routes from Baltimore, Charlotte, and Bogota, Colombia. The airline is also discontinuing all service from Rhode Island’s T.F. Green International Airport.

If you are a frequent traveler from Newark to Tampa, you can still find nonstop flights with United Airlines and flights with layovers on Frontier and Spirit.

JetBlue will also continue to offer flights from Newark to Orlando International Airport, where you can either rent a car and drive for two hours or use a rideshare option. Brightline is working on expanding its service from the Orlando Airport to Tampa, so taking the train may become an option in the future.

Brightline and JetBlue are partners, so if you’re looking to hop on the train from the Orlando Airport, you can book your flight and train ticket at the same time. Just keep in mind that if you’re still heading to Tampa, that line isn’t finished being built yet.
