Police conducting DUI operation in Pinellas this weekend

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) —Several police departments will be out in full force this weekend to conduct a DUI prevention operation in Pinellas County.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said the operation will run from 7 p.m. on Saturday, August 30, to 5 a.m. on Sunday, August 31.

In addition to the sheriff’s office, the Florida Highway Patrol and the St. Petersburg, Tarpon Springs and Clearwater Police Departments will be patrolling the streets targeting impaired drivers.

PCSO said the operation is dedicated to the McConnell family, which suffered a tragic loss due to a DUI driver in 2010.
