Labor Day protest planned on Central Avenue after state orders mural removals, two ministers’ arrest

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Activists across the Bay Area are preparing for a Labor Day demonstration after the recent removal of murals from local crosswalks. Four in St. Pete are already gone.

The Florida Department of Transportation said five murals in St. Pete do not comply with the state’s safety and traffic control device standards.
